I just thought I'd post a picture of what Davin looked like before I started and him finished to just show you what I do. There are around 30 layers of paint on Davin which all together give the finished look.
I know the head on the left looks a bit strange without eyes etc. but this is what I start out with on my journey to a finished doll. I don't know what a doll will look like when he/she is finished until I finish. I do have control over how blushed the doll is, how blotchy the skin is and whether it's 'peaches and cream' skin tone but I have no idea what the finished 'character' will be like and I love finding out!

Next...
My next project is going to comprise of a girl for myself and a girl for my best friend. Davin will be getting a 'big' sister although I'm not totally sure which sculpt she'll be from. I want a sleeping doll that's bigger than newborn (partly cause it's easier to get clothes to fit!) I've ordered a 'Libby' sculpt by Cindy Musgrove. I really wanted a 'Heather' sculpt by Donna Rubert but they are out of stock. I'm going to make up the 'Libby' sculpt and see what she turns out like and then decide to either sell her and get a 'Heather' sculpt or keep her. The picture below shows how someone else has made her and how she could look just to give you an idea:
Here's a picture of how the 'Heather' sculpt could look (again I did not make this doll):
The 'Libby' sculpt is approx. 23 inches long so she's quite a big baby! The 'Heather' sculpt is approx. 22 inches long. They're both really cute and I can't wait to see how they turn out. My friend has asked me to make her a doll out of the 'Amber' kit by Pat Moulton. We've ordered the 'Libby' and 'Amber' kits and I can't wait til they arrive so I can get started! I'll try and remember to keep the BLOG updated with their progress :)

My latest!
My latest doll to date is this little cutie made from the 'Drew' Sculpt by Heather Boneham. She's now called Alexis. I really enjoyed making this doll even though I find doing the hair a pain :) She has a magnet for a hair accessory too.
Another 'Jewel'
I made this doll as a twin for my doll Davin but in the end I didn't keep her and she now lives with a 7 year old who got her for her birthday. She's from the sculpt 'Jewel' by Denise Pratt and I finished her in February 2013
Another little one!
This little one is from the same set of micro preemie quads by Stephanie Sullivan as the 15 inch doll I made for a friend for Christmas 2011. Her sculpt is 'Kirsten'. She was made for a child for Christmas 2012.
