What next?

I'm now working on a 15inch baby for a friend. She wants her for her daughter for Christmas and it's my first 'paid' reborn so I'm hoping it works out ok. I've done about 10 layers of paint so far and I've a good few to go. I started her 5 days ago and it's quite a slow process. I am using Genesis Heat Set Paints to reborn her so every layer needs to be left until the thinner has dried, then be 'baked' in an oven for 8 to 10 minutes to set the paint and then finally the vinyl has to cool before the next layer can be painted. The process is long but the end result is paint that will not fade or crack over time. Also the layers are applied so thinly the layers are translucent and you can see through to the previous layers. This gives a very real result to the skin.

I still have a good few layers to complete including tipping and sealing her nails and accents on her body such as the creases. I expect the painting to take another few days. Unfortunately I'm having to wait now until more paint colours arrive in order to finish the painting :)

Here are some pics of how she looks so far:

Comments are more than welcome :)

Kallie

Thought my first post should be about the first baby I reborned :) Her name is 'Kallie', is approximately 21inches long and she has taken nearly 3 years from purchase to completion! I got the kit in 2008 but then didn't touch her again until a few weeks ago. I'm really pleased to have finally finished her!

I decided to leave her as a 'baldy' because I went to root her hair twice but didn't like the look of it so I pulled it all out again :) I think she still looks pretty cute even without hair!
